Sam Donnelly is the Executive Director of Building Burlington’s Future, where he leads the organization’s strategy, operations, and external relations. His background spans political campaigns, public policy, and nonprofit leadership, with a focus on issues affecting Burlington and Vermont communities.

Before joining BBF, Sam served as Government Relations Manager at Let’s Grow Kids, where he helped lead statewide advocacy efforts to expand access to affordable child care. Prior to working at Let’s Grow Kids, he worked at Planned Parenthood as the campaign manager for the Reproductive Liberty Amendment campaign. He has also managed and advised multiple campaigns for local and statewide office and has experience in both policy development and grassroots organizing.

Sam earned his degree in Community and International Development from the University of Vermont and lives in Burlington with his amazing wife, sweet dog named Henry, and mostly nice cat named Ollie.
